Year 6: Peggy Angus Class

Margaret MacGregor Angus was born in Chile, the eleventh of thirteen children of a Scottish railway engineer. She spent her first five years in Chile.  In Britain she grew up in Muswell Hill and became a pupil at the North London Collegiate School.

Angus became best known for her industrial designs, tiles and wallpapers. Her significant achievements included a tile mural for the Susan Lawrence School in east London, a ‘live exhibit’ for the Festival of Britain.

Angus was also interested in mural painting and made several murals for private clients.

Year 6 children have the opportunity to write in many different formats, have daily shared and independent reading, visit the school library to get a book to take home as well as consolidating and progressing their learning in maths through number, shape, data handling and problem solving.

Reading books go home every afternoon and are brought to school every morning. We encourage the children to read every night. To support maths you could help them practice their arithmetic especially their times tables.

SATs tests will be taken during the Summer Term and the children will be well prepared for what to expect so that they can achieve to the best of their ability.

Reminders:

  • P.E. lessons are on Mondays and Thursdays.
  • Please return books every morning in book bags.
