Wow! What an incredible, fun-filled term we’ve had in Year 2! It feels like time has flown by and we can’t believe we’re already at the end of it. This term has been all about nature, the world around us and the children have absolutely loved every moment.

From exploring different habitats to getting creative and designing our very own buildings for Canary Wharf, our learners have been busy! In Maths, we’ve tackled addition and subtraction with confidence, developing our problem-solving skills along the way. Meanwhile, in English, we’ve let our imaginations run wild, writing our own versions of Beyond the Pond.

We’ve also been scientists this term, diving deep into the fascinating world of centipedes! Did you know they can have anywhere from 30 to 354 legs? After conducting our own research and experiments, we can now proudly call ourselves centipede experts! The children have worked so hard to produce their very own non-chronological reports, packed with amazing facts and brilliant writing. They will be bringing these home to share with you—so be sure to ask them all about their fantastic discoveries!

These are just some of the highlights from this term and we hope you enjoys the pictures and videos as much as we’ve enjoyed every moment of it!

“I loved building the tall towers—it was tricky, but we made it work!” Shokria

“It was fun working with my friends and seeing our buildings come together.” Kairaa

“I liked figuring out how to make my building stand up without falling over.” Ayan

As the saying goes, “Every great building begins with a great idea.” Our Year 2s certainly proved this, turning their ideas into something special. What a brilliant way to learn, create, and have fun!

A huge congratulations to the children who have achieved 100% attendance this term! Consistently attending school every day is essential for learning and personal growth, and we are proud of these children for their dedication and commitment. Keep up the great work!

This term the children have also been dedicating themselves to honing their oracy skills. It’s been wonderful to watch them engage in thoughtful conversations and interviews with one another, putting their practice into action. The growth in their ability to express themselves confidently and clearly is evident, and it’s a joy to see them excel in this area!

It’s been a wonderful term of curiosity, creativity, and discovery. We are so proud of how much the children have learned and can’t wait for what’s to come next term! Thank you for your ongoing support—we hope you all have a restful and enjoyable break.
