Buckle up for an exciting journey into the world of habitats with Tagore Class! This week has been an absolute whirlwind of discovery, exploration, and hands-on learning that has left Tagore class buzzing with excitement. Let’s dive into the highlights of our adventure-packed week!
Forest Schooling and Gardening Magic
At the beginning of the week, we embraced the great outdoors with both forest schooling and gardening activities. Tagore class have been exploring organic compost made at school, which includes worms, woodlice, centipedes and more. We have been learning about the connections between these creatures, how they depend on each other and why they can be found together. We found evidence of a simple food chain here: dead plant matter-woodlouse-spider-centipede-bird.
Journey to Soanes Centre: Our Transformation into Real-Life Scientists!
The excitement doesn’t end there! On Thursday we embarked on a expedition to the Soanes Centre where our Class transformed into scientists. Curious minds, magnifying glasses, and a pond habitat awaiting our discovery. We were not just observers; we were active participants in unravelling the secrets of the underwater world.
Exploring the Pond Habitat Wonderland
Our young scientists couldn’t wait to dip their nets into the pond, and discover a bustling world beneath the water’s surface. With creatures dancing and mysterious aquatic plants creating a magical scene, the children immersed themselves into this fascinating world of pond life habitat. The excitement was contagious as we closely watched, measured, and documented our findings!
Connecting Classroom Lessons to the Great Outdoors
This week’s adventures weren’t just about fun and games; they were about bringing the classroom activities to life. Tagore class learnt firsthand about the importance of habitats, the delicate balance of ecosystems, and the fascinating interdependence of living organisms. These experiences will undoubtedly enrich their understanding and love for the natural world around them.
Our natural world is a gift. Every leaf, every creature plays an important role, Let’s be grateful stewards, enjoy the beauty of our natural habitat but be mindful of our impact, and leave footprints of conservation.
So dear parents rest assured that your children are not just learning about habitats from books; they are living and breathing the lessons, fostering a lifelong appreciation for the wonders of our nature. Stay tuned for more exciting updates as we continue with this incredible journey together!
