What a fantastic week it’s been in Year 2, filled with creativity, curiosity, and lots of learning!
In English, the children have been diving into the story of The Magic Paintbrush. They’ve been retelling the tale not only through speaking but also through dance — bringing the characters and their emotions to life in a whole new way. It’s been wonderful to see their imaginations flourish and their confidence grow as they explored storytelling in such expressive and creative ways.

In Maths, we’ve been getting to grips with fractions. The children have been working hard to understand halves, quarters, and more — with plenty of hands-on activities to help these tricky concepts click.
As part of our wider curriculum, we’ve been stepping into the world of digital learning. The children have been using computers to research information and then turn their findings into pictograms. It’s been a great way for them to see how we can use technology to present data clearly and creatively.

In Geography, the children have been busy exploring the world around them — quite literally! They’ve been learning all about the seven continents and the five oceans, using songs, maps, and interactive activities to help them remember key facts and develop a better understanding of our planet.
Well done, Year 2 — your enthusiasm and energy make every week a joy! From paintbrushes to pictograms, fractions to faraway continents — what an adventure it’s been!
