Hokusai class delved back into design and technology this week by having an Iron Man themed DT session focusing on stable structures.

The children were tasked with building their very own Iron Man, keeping in mind certain design criteria such as stability (will it withstand 3 pokes?) and robustness (will it remain intact after 3 falls?). In their groups, the children designed and clearly labelled their creations, discussing what each part would be made of and how it would be put together.

Then, they tested their designs, making changes to their models as they saw what worked well and what needed to be changed.

At the end, they tested their models and were given points based on how successfully they met the design criteria. At last, we celebrated the winners! What a lovely way to finish our Iron Man topic.
