For our DT project this term, year 5 are designing and making an eco friendly bag, in line with their learning theme which is Eco Warriors. They’ve been learning about some of the negative impacts that humans have on the environment, and some of the actions we can take to prevent them. One small thing we can do is use less plastic, recycle our waste and upcycle old clothes. We decided we will reuse our old clothes and make a tote/shopping bag out of it! We will be sewing our bag eventually. Today, pupils designed and made a prototype bag. They merged Maths and DT to measure, cut, then stick their prototype bags together. Watch this space to see them use real fabric and sewing machines to make their final product!
