A Day to Remember: Our Year 1 Trip to Chalkwell Beach
This year, our Year 1 students were treated to an unforgettable day at Chalkwell Beach, a trip that combined fun, learning, and a bit of adventure. Here’s a recap of our delightful day by the sea.
All Aboard!
Students arrived at school with their sun hats, spare clothes and were provided packed lunches, ready for the journey ahead.
Our journey began with a comfortable and breezy coach ride to Chalkwell Beach. For many of the children, the coach ride itself was an adventure. The singing, laughter, and eager chatter set a joyous tone for the day. As we neared the beach, we spotted the sea in the far distance and a pebbly but sandy beach.

Beach Fun and Games
Sandcastles and Creativity: With buckets and spades in hand, the students got to work on their sandcastles. It was heart-warming to see their creativity come to life as they built intricate castles, moats, and even a few imaginary creatures. Teachers and parent volunteers joined in, helping to perfect their sandy masterpieces.

Seaside Scavenger Hunt: To add a dash of learning to our fun day out, we organized a scavenger hunt. The children were tasked with finding various items such as seashells, seaweed, pebbles, and feathers.

Picnic Time: After a morning of non-stop activity, it was time to refuel. We gathered for a beach picnic, enjoying our packed lunches under the shade of colourful beach umbrellas. The sight of children happily munching on their sandwiches, sharing snacks, and chatting with their friends was a testament to the simple joys of a day out.

Here’s to many more such memorable trips and the countless smiles they bring in the future!
