After evaluating our current school playground equipment, Hokusai Class designed and made models of their dream improvements that they would like to see added. They designed swings, double swings, slides, swimming pools (with diving board and water slide), a zip wire, a helter-skelter and even a permanent ice cream van to be open during the summer months.
They had to work hard developing their skills as designers, and focus on making their structures strong and stable (and safe too).
We built a swing. We need this because it is safe and it is decorated. It is strong, stable and safe because it has great support. I did improve but my structure was very tricky, and I needed a bigger piece of paper.
