Year 4 classes have been enjoying learning about electricity in Science. This week, they explored insulators and conductors of electricity. First, they had to make a simple electrical circuit with a bulb that successfully lit up. After that, like a true scientist, they conducted a fair test to explore different materials that are conductors or insulators of electricity. They were given some materials to test out, but began to get really imaginative and find materials around the classroom themselves. Before we knew it, pupils were attaching their simple circuits to their metal zips, metal water bottles, metal rings in their hair bobbles and even the metal in Miss Ross’ earrings! The highlight was seeing Miss Ross become part of an electrical circuit which lit up! The pupils were buzzing with joy. There are lots more they can go into detail about. Please ask them questions about their learning so they show off their knowledge! Get them to share it with a sibling or friend too!
