Year 4, Van Gogh class have started reading their new book for this term, Ice Palace, by Robert Swindells. This adventure book is a great fictional story that the children will be using to write their own independent write. This week we have been understanding the text by reading, acting out and describing settings.
The children really enjoyed acting out the scene in the story and they shared their great drama skills with each other. Lots of the students were able to share good feedback to each other as well.
For their writing, the children created excellent story settings. The focused on Starjik’s cavern and made sure to include interesting expanded noun phrases and exciting vocabulary to set the scene!
