This afternoon our Year 2 children had a very special visitor—an actual firefighter came to our school! The children were full of excitement as they gathered to listen and learn from someone who helps keep our communities safe every day.

During his visit, the firefighter spoke to the children about how to stay safe at home and what to do in case of a fire. He shared some really important tips, like making sure we know our address, checking smoke alarms, and having a plan for how to get out of the house safely if there’s ever an emergency.

The children asked some great questions and were engaged throughout. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to learn about fire safety in a way that was fun and to see how the things we talk about in class really matter in the real world.

We’re so grateful to our firefighter visitor for giving up his time to come and speak with us. The children left the session inspired, informed, and full of stories to tell at home. Hopefully, you’ll hear all about it this evening!
