What an unforgettable year it has been in Year 2! Our amazing Year 2 children have shown incredible dedication and hard work throughout the year, making all of us so proud of their achievements. Watching their progress and growth has been heartwarming, and we are confident that they will continue to shine as they move forward into Year 3. The memories we’ve created together will always hold a special place in our hearts.

At the beginning of the year, we explored our community and the wonderful people who help us every day. The children were fascinated by the roles of community helpers and enjoyed many engaging activities that brought these lessons to life.
We then traveled back in time to explore the Great Fire of London. Through stories, crafts, and discussions, the children gained a vivid understanding of this significant historical event and its impact on the city.
Our journey didn’t stop there! We also embarked on a global adventure, discovering the seven continents and their unique features. The students loved exploring different cultures, landscapes, and wildlife from around the world.
We also delved into the magical world of literature. The children explored various authors and uncovered the secrets of what makes a good story. Their creativity flourished as they crafted their own tales, inspired by the wonderful books we read together.
Let’s not forget our accomplishments in Maths and English! In Maths, the children have become more confident with addition and subtraction, multiplication, fractions, lengths, and heights, among many other topics. They really enjoyed these lessons and have mastered their 2, 3, 5, and 10 times tables with enthusiasm and precision.
In English, the children have made great strides in their reading and writing skills. They explored various genres, expanded their vocabulary, and learned to express their thoughts creatively and clearly. Their stories and poems have been a joy to read, showcasing their growing abilities and imaginations.
Each of these topics brought so much excitement and joy to our classroom, making this year a truly memorable one for everyone.
