This week in history we created our double page spread. We did the double page spread all about the Poplar Rates Rebellion and the key figures Minnie Lansbury ,Susan Lawrence and George Lansbury. After we completed our double page spread our parents came to the class room to see them. Here are some examples of what we did in our double page spread
In history, we learnt about the Bristol Bus Boycott that was inspired by Rosa Parks. They boycotted buses for 382(1 year and 17 days) when the bus companies refused to employ anyone who was not white. We imagined we were back in that time and made leaflet or posters all about encouraging other people to join the community and stop racism and boycott buses. Here are some examples of posters/leaflet we did.
In our workshop we learnt what would be good if you get your zip card. You can use your zip card for 5 years only if you are 11 or over but if you are over 16 you would need to buy a real oyster card. A zip card last about 5 years and only cost about £15 what a bargain. Here is a picture showing what a zip card looks like
Finally, we finished off our half term with a trip to Bartlett Park because we won the token prize last week. It was such a fun way to end the first term!
