Today, Delaunay used a number‑line to tell the time. The clock was transformed from a mysterious set of numbers on a circle on the wall into a familiar path of numbers and intervals. By building a 0–60 line with cubes then stretching it around into a circle, children realised they can count in fives to see the connection between minutes and one hour.

Prince: Today, we were learning about time, and I learnt that 60 minutes is the same as one hour.
Amal: I learnt that clocks have hands and faces.
Maria: The intervals are the spaces, and there were 12 groups of 5 because 12 x 5 = 60
Scarlett: We used a number-line to count in 5’s. It was straight then it was round.
Zayd: Time never ends.
