This week Year 5 mathematicians entered a problem-solving competition called Wondermaths: Home (wondermaths.org.uk). Children participated in a wide range of problem solving activities and competed against 14 other schools in the Heats.

Problems included, puzzles, code breaking, patterns and the 24 game.

All year, children have been working incredibly hard to sharpen their skills and increase their speed when solving problems. They have attended after school club and lunchtime club with Ms. Bennett and have competed against teachers and adults in the school. We are really proud of their achievements and equally impressed with their problem solving abilities. I have yet to see Asiya lose a round of the 24 game – her speed and accuracy are phenomenal!
