This week in Hepworth Class, Ms Miah had the word ‘Oracy’ on our board. We were full of curiosity and asked many questions to find out more.
“What is that?” – Haydn
“What is oracy?” – Humam
“Is that our new topic?” – Ishak
What does oracy mean?” – Nahid
“Is that what we are going to learn about?” – Mayhirema
“Why is that up there?” – Kadeejah
Oracy is the ability to articulate ideas, develop understanding and engage with others through spoken language. There are four strands. They are the following:
Linguistic
Physical
Social and Emotional
Cognitive

Our oracy focus in Year 3

We then came up with Talk Guidelines. This will help us articulate and express ourselves more clearly. It will also improve our communication skills. Oracy links to our Articulate Learning Disposition. INSERT TALK GUIDELINES

We have sentence stems in our class to help support and guide our talk.

Thanks for reading our blog.
