Let’s celebrate together the power of reading aloud and storytelling.
This week, our Year 2 children have been exploring the wonderful world of books! It’s been a week dedicated to the wonders of storytelling, reminding our children of the joy and passion that comes from a great story. Each day the children in Year 2 have been doing some wonderful activities inspired by our daily reads, sparking imagination and creativity in our classroom.
Throughout the week, we’ve explored a treasure of stories, each one more captivating than the last. From tales of daring adventures to heartwarming friendships, every book has brought new excitement and inspiration. Our young readers have been captivated, eagerly turning pages and sharing their favourite moments with friends.
Here are some of the highlights from our storytelling week:
Delaunay class:
Tagore Class:
Delaunay and Tagore classes were inspired by reading “The Planet Pickle Jar.” Motivated to explore ways to better care for our planet, we delved into what actions we can take to improve the world around us.
We have also been enjoying other exciting books, such as “My Brother is an Avocado” and “Doris.” These stories have inspired the children to reflect on their own unique qualities and create their own posters celebrating what makes them stand out. Through this creative activity, the children have been able to express their individuality and share their personal strengths with their friends!
Vote for Your Favorites!
At the end of the week, we’ll vote for our favorite story and illustration. We can’t wait to see which ones will win!
This week has reminded us how magical books are. Our Year 2 children have loved every moment and have created their own wonderful stories.
As Dr. Seuss wonderfully said, “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” Our young readers are well on their way to many exciting adventures!
Stay tuned for the results of our vote! Thanks for supporting our young storytellers. Happy reading!
