A trip to Mudchute Park and Farm in London was a delightful adventure, especially for Year 1 students! Mudchute is one of the largest city farms in Europe, offering a fantastic opportunity for children to connect with nature and learn about farm animals up close. Here’s what they got up to!
Arrival and Welcome: From the moment the children arrived, they could feel the excitement bubbling up. The students arrived at Mudchute Park and Farm, excited and full of energy. They are greeted by chirping birds and cheeky squirrels! As they walked down the muddy road, they sang their favourite nursery rhyme that reminded them of the animals they expected to see that day! . The air was fresh, and the sun was shining—perfect weather for a day on the farm.
Exploring the Farm: The children visited different animal enclosures, including sheep, goats, pigs, cows, chickens, and ducks. Along the way, they learnt fascinating facts about each animal’s habits, diet, and role on the farm.
One of the best parts of the trip was getting to meet the animals up close. Children sketched the animals in detail, observing the different patterns and textures on their bodies.

Lunchtime
As the day came to a close, children gathered together for lunch. They chatted and laughed, sharing stories of our favourite moments from the trip. When they boarded the train back to school, they were excited to complete their sketches with some colour!
