On Thursday 26th June, children were super excited for their first class trip to Chalkwell beach. They all brought their sunhats, beach towels and lovely smiles to the beach!

Have a look at what we had got up to!

The coach journey was full of chatter, some children had never been to the beach before, so the excitement was extra high! As we stepped onto the sand, children became even more excited to have seen the sea and immediately linked the features of the beach to their learning of physical and human features that they’ve been learning about in wider curriculum.

We spent the morning building sandcastles, digging for treasure, and dipping our toes in the cool water. There were shouts of joy when someone found a crab shell and lots of teamwork. Ava said” I found a crab Miss!” and squealed with excitement.

At lunchtime, we all sat together, enjoying our food with the sound of the waves in the background. There was even scrumptious ice cream for dessert which all the children enjoyed.

In the afternoon, we explored the beach for interesting shells and talked about looking after the seaside. The children were so thoughtful and respectful, making us incredibly proud.

Back at school the next day, the children drew some beautiful pictures of their favourite memories from the trip. Some drew themselves walking in the sea to spotting sea creatures.

A huge thank you again to our parent helpers and to all the children for making this such a joyful and memorable day.

Thank you
