Year 5 classes visited the British Museum today as part of their learning on Ancient Egyptians. It was wonderful to see them travel back in time to the Egyptian era. They got to see real mummies and the decadent tombs that they were buried in. They were especially fascinated by the canopic jars that organs were placed it, the shabti dolls that the pharoahs were buried with and various statues that dated back to the BC era! Zainab said “my favourite artefact was the Leshiwanda which is an enormous plate that the early Egyptians would fill with liquor to offer to the Gods for blessings!”
