Last Friday, Year 2 had an exciting afternoon where they had a chance to meet a real-life firefighter! The classroom was filled with chatter and laughter as the children waited eagerly to hear all about his important job.

When the firefighter arrived, he greeted the children with a big smile. The children were thrilled to see him and couldn’t wait to ask their questions. He shared interesting stories about what it’s like to be a firefighter and talked about how he helps keep people safe in our community.

We learned all about fire safety, including what to do if there’s a fire at home. The firefighter explained how important it is to have a fire alarm in our house and the children listened carefully, excited to learn how they could stay safe.

Even though the visit was short, it was packed with fun and valuable information. The firefighter’s stories inspired the children, and they couldn’t stop talking about their favourite parts. The Year 2s were eager to write their own reports about firefighters, inspired by everything they had learned.

As the visit ended, the children left the classroom buzzing with excitement, thankful for the chance to meet a real hero. It was a memorable experience that would help them as they continued to learn about firefighters and fire safety!
