Being articulate is one of our Learning Dispositions at Lansbury Lawrence. Today in art, year 6 developed skills in describing what they could see clearly, and then confidently sharing why they arranged certain artworks together.
Working with a partner, one person had to describe the art work they had in front of them without letting the other person see it. They had to describe the shapes, patterns, position and scale. It was quite hard! The other person was drawing what they thought was being described. It taught us that we need to listen carefully, and to look closely.
Next, in groups of three, year 6 were curators! Their task was to select four artworks for an exhibition. What would they put together, and why? They confidently shared their choices and reasons to the rest of the class. Here are a few of the final exhibitions…
