Van Gogh and Riley class finally got their trip to the British Museum!
They were very good on the trains on route to the British Museum. When we got to the Museum, we went to visit the Anglo-Saxons and Viking’s section. The children were able to look at artefacts such as “The Franks Casket” and identify the different Anglo-saxon symbols in groups. They looked at the different gold and metal artefacts and discussed the roles of Anglo-Saxons based on these. They designed their own jewellery based on the Anglo-Saxon crafts and jewellery pieces. For Van Gogh’s new topic, they will be studying the Vikings. Today on the visit, children were able to see Viking artefacts such as swords and jewellery and find interesting facts.
