This term in Hokusai class we have been learning about how to stay healthy by eating nutritious foods and exercising. We have learnt the differences in food groups and what we need to eat to ensure our bodies get the right nutrients. We know that fibre (fruit and vegetables) should make up 50% of our diets, so we decided to make fruit salads in class.

After learning important food hygiene rules and knife skills, we started making our fruit salads out of apples, bananas, mandarins, watermelon and blueberries. The students all took turns cutting, peeling and slicing different fruits to make their very own fruit salad.

Afterwards, they got to enjoy their delicious creation and wrote down the steps on how to make an incredible fruit salad.
