Last night the Lansbury Lawrence School Choir performed at the Young Voices Concert 2020 at London’s 02 Arena. It was an absolutely spectacular night! More than 5,000 students from across London and the South East performed songs or dances at the event. This is just one in a series of five Young Voices concerts, which take place right across the country. In total, 60,000 children will have taken part between January 7 and February 7 2020.

Our school choir members, from years three, four, five and six, got their first ever taste of the Young Voices event. It was made extra special by the attendance of some celebrity singers. Spandau Ballet’s lead singer, Tony Hadley, was joined by country duo The Shires and The Voice UK 2018 winner, Ruti.

Our big moment was between 7pm and 9pm, as everyone sang as one for an audience of 5,000 parents, carers and teachers. The songs included Best of the West, Queen Medley, Frightfest, Pop Medley and many more.

The children sang their hearts out and really enjoyed singing and dancing along with the professionals.
