This half term, Year 4 have been learning about famous explorers in history and geography, focusing on polar adventurers like Ernest Shackleton or Matthew Henson. In English, we read Ice Trap!, the gripping true story of Shackleton’s Antarctic expedition, using it to inspire their writing. In Maths, we have explored fractions and decimals, learning how to compare, add, and convert between them.
As part of the “Explorers” theme, our classes an exciting trip to the National Maritime Museum. They explored fascinating exhibits about famous sea voyages and learned more about the challenges faced by polar explorers like Shackleton. Please take a look at the photos from this trip.
