Hirst Class enjoyed a fun filled afternoon of investigations, experiments and research. We enjoyed researching about the importance and the functions of the human skeleton such as the skull protects the brain and the rib cage protect vital organs such as the heart and lungs. They also had an opportunity to make a movable hand puppet to understand how joints work.
Investigating with Circuits: Children worked in pairs to connect circuits with buzzers and switches as well as sort out materials that are electrical conductors and insulators.
Parachute Investigation: Finally, children designed and made parachutes which they tested in the playground. After testing it, adjustments were made and then they enjoyed playing with it. It was great to see how well they discussed, reasoned and supported each other during the whole process.
