This term all children are learning sport-based skills and dance and movement skills in their PE lessons.

Year 1 and 2 are learning how to control, dribble and pass a ball successfully with their feet.

They learnt that control means to keep the ball close to you using small touches with their feet.

Delaunay class moved safely around the space while practicing their controlled dribbling.

Sometimes we needed to dodge out the way of another person or ball coming our way! Another useful skill in football and other sports!

They learned how to stop the ball safely and with control by tapping their foot on top.

They also needed to keep their ball away from the defenders in a game of space invaders!

Year 1 braved the rainy outdoors to practise their dribbling skills!

The class discussed what control meant and how it was easier to control the ball when you slow down and use gentle touches.

Meanwhile in year 6, Hadid Class were getting creative in the classroom, creating dance routines inspired by carnival music!

The children said a good dancer has confidence, expression, rhythm and good timing.

They worked well in groups and listened to each others’ ideas.
