In maths we have been looking at measurement. On Thursday we went to the playground and used the big scales to weigh things and see which was heavier. We then used what we know about ‘greater than, less than and equal to’ to write our sentences on the pavement in chalk. Have a look what we got up to.
On Friday we had more fun inside the classroom as it was raining. We were learning about measuring water. We had five activities including ordering volume, estimating how many cups of water it took to fill a bucket, reading measurements, halving amounts and estimating which container would hold the greatest volume. We also estimated how much rain would fall and measured it across the day. Our estimates were a little bit wrong as we thought the container would over flow but it rained less than 10ml.
