Hokusai Class braved the cold today to go and explore the public art at Canary Wharf. We wanted to see one very special sculpture – Draped Seated Woman by Henry Moore. The sculpture is big and looks different depending on where you are standing to look at it. We sketched our perspectives, and talked about what it may be made from. The sculpture is of a seated woman, but doesn’t look exactly like a human figure. Some bits are large and some bits are small, and there wasn’t lots of detail. We enjoyed our visit, and it was nice to see a real sculpture – especially one by Henry Moore, and just a ten minute journey from school.
