Hepworth and Hokusai class have been watching One Wish Too Many to inspire their writing since the start of year three. Set on the Lansbury estate and featuring Lansbury Road School, Chrisp St market and other local buildings, the 1950s film is a tale of a schoolboy who finds a magic marble that grants him any wish he wants until it all goes terribly wrong.
Students in both classes returned from break to find their classrooms in disarray, and they used role-play to explore different parts of the story and imagine the destruction had been caused by their own magic marble. Luckily, teachers and teaching assistants were on hand to straighten back the classrooms, and the children used their creativity to write diary entries, dialogue and newspaper reports.
