To build on our learning about authors this half-term, the class went on an exciting trip to our local library—and what a brilliant time it was! We were thrilled to be joined by many of our lovely parents, who came along to share in the fun too. As soon as we arrived, we were welcomed with a warm smile from the librarians and we were ready to explore.

The children had a great time wandering through the shelves, discovering stories about magical lands, brave adventurers, cheeky animals, and faraway planets. Everyone found something that sparked their imagination, and it was wonderful to see parents and children reading together, chatting about their favourite books and characters. A real highlight of the trip was story time with the friendly librarian. She read us a funny, action-packed story that had us all laughing and joining in.
Before we left, we learned all about the fantastic summer activities the library is offering—there’s a reading challenge with cool prizes, creative craft sessions, and even clubs to join! Lots of us are already excited to sign up and get involved.
It was a joyful and inspiring day that reminded us just how magical books can be. We can’t wait to return soon!
