Year 1 had their first art lesson of the year this week, and now they are in KS1 they have their lessons in the school’s art studio. It was very exciting to go upstairs and see the studio for the first time. It was very exciting to sit at the desks and create together.
Year 1 have their own sketchbooks, and are beginning to learn how to control the marks they make using different materials. Lesson one was how to hold a paintbrush, how to clean a paintbrush, and exploring the different kinds of big and small marks we could make. Watch this space to see how Year 1 progress as they develop their art knowledge and skills over the rest of the year.
