The Courtauld Gallery is home to one of the world’s great art collections, located in the historic setting of Somerset House in central London. The collection includes paintings, drawings, prints, sculpture, and decorative arts ranging from the medieval period to the present day.
Lichtenstein Class visited the Courtauld today and had a workshop exploring portraiture and identity. We looked at different works of art and looked for the clues that told us more about the identity of the people in the paintings. We made mind maps and created drawn collages inspired by all the different works we saw.
The Courtauld is also a famous university that specialises in teaching art history – Lichtenstein Class were fantastic art historians today!
