Students have been turning off the lights and picking up torches as they continued exploring the topic Light in their science lessons last week. Questions and investigations centred around what material is best for sunglasses and how shadows are formed.
The class investigation suggested that a translucent material would be most suitable for a pair of sunglasses then some students donned their finished product. However, the Sun’s rays are so powerful that we know it’s unsafe to look directly at it – even with our new shades 🕶️
Uthman and Sabrina discovered that an object can have more than one shadow and learnt how to change the size depending on how close the object was to the light source.
We’ve all enjoyed being scientists so far this year, and we look forward to raising more questions and testing more ideas in the year ahead.
