Well, it’s been a slightly different start to the new year but Ms Ross and I could not be prouder with Kahlo Class’ commitment to online learning this term! Well done everyone!

Please enjoy a selection of the children’s online learning this term – there was plenty of it!

As part of our “Eco Warriors” theme, we read This I Morning I Met a Whale by Michael Morpurgo.

We read and discussed the book together every day on our Google Meets. The children composed poetry, did some creative writing and created some beautiful artwork. We even got to (virtually) meet the author in a live Q&A on YouTube!

“My favourite part was hearing parts from Michael’s stories! I learnt that he has travelled a lot and he gets inspiration from people around him (the world).” – Zainab
Our daily class discussions recorded on our Layered Reading “padlet”.
Fahim’s drawing of Narwhals

We also learnt about the environment and what we can do to protect it. Check out these eye-catching posters!

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle by Sameera
Save the Word by Humaira
Yaqub’s persuasive “Heal the World” poster

Presentation and handwriting have also been outstanding! We love reading the children’s work.

Courage poem by Sumuaya
Layered Reading by Nubia
Ayaan’s short division
Jaser’s introduction to an explanation text
How do bees make honey? By Liyanna
Remayssa’s writing
Amelia’s daily arithmetic
Talha was very proud of his writing about bees and showed creativity with his presentation!

There have been many achievements to celebrate over the term. We awarded learner of the week to Humaira, Remayssa, Zayd, Liyanna and Hasan (but it was very hard to pick just one each week!)

Some final achievements to recognise:

Well done Kahlo Class! We wish you a very relaxing half term break!
