For the past few weeks, Year 5 have been working with an Eco arts company called Sunny Jar on a special project to raise awareness about the harmful effects of single use plastics.

We collected as much plastic as we could from home and have been cutting and attaching long strips to a net as well as creating fish and attaching these too. The idea is to show how our oceans are filling up with plastic and soon there will be more plastic than fish in the sea!

We’ve been discussing ways we can cut down our single use plastic by using re-usable bottles and cups, bags and trying to choose foods in the shop with less packaging.

This exciting project will be exhibited in Chrisp Street Market in June. Watch this space!
