What a lovely Autumn in O’Keeffe Class!

We do lots of lovely learning and playing in O’Keeffe Class. We use our fine motor skills to make objects. We use our painting skills to make light and dark marks. We use the High Frequency (sight word) Wheel to learn our words.

Here we are getting arty and making cards. Then we used our painting skills to explore paint.
We are learning about greatest to smallest and smallest to greatest. The children used their number skills to put the amounts in order. At home you can practice putting objects in order from smallest to greatest.

Playing racing games and seeing who can come first, second and third…
We use disco dough to make our fingers strong, so that we can grip our pencil and write well. After the dough we do a challenge. This challenge was to make the word cat with the dough.
We are learning about the season Autumn, so we went to the garden to make an Autumn tree.

We had a chance to explore our garden and visit the chickens. We found some eggs and enjoyed looking at the trees and the environment. Some children noticed there was a place for a fire and wondered what it was for.

Winter Tasting: We worked very hard to win the most tokens in the school for making the right choices. Our prize was to taste the new winter food. We washed our hands and went to the dinner hall to try the delicious winter menu.

We really enjoyed it! Journie said, “I love the taste.” Abdul said, “I liked the custard because of the milk.” Riden said, “I liked the macaroni cheese.”
