Taking photographs in year 2

We have been doing a project in computing. Last week, we learnt about photographs, and the keywords we remembered are portrait, landscape, device, and permission.

Our portrait photos:​

Portrait is vertical. It helps us see the top and bottom of something tall in a photograph.

We chose portrait to take photographs of people because it will show the person’s whole entire body including their head and their legs.​ We chose landscape to take photographs of places because it will help us see the whole scenery. If we chose portrait we might miss something on the sides.​

Landscape is horizontal. It shows us the left and right of wide things in a photograph.​

This week, we thought about framing, effects and lighting:

Group A: Our portrait photograph of a person looked best

Group B: We chose to take a landscape photograph of a scene and give it enough light
Group C: The photograph could have been better with more light
Group D: We took a picture with no light. It was not good.
Group E: If we made a frame we could have focused on the subject
Group F: We looked at the photograph and said we needed to keep the device still

Group G: We put the subject in the frame before taking the photograph
