Year 3 have been working hard this term learning about animation. First, we made flip book animations using drawings that were animated by flipping the pages.
More recently we’ve been using an app to create stop-frame animations using background settings and characters. First we had to draw a story board to plan our animation. The storyboards had to be simple as each frame is made up of a still photo.
We then used our storyboards to help us create our frames for the movie. We had to take a photo of the scene, then move one small part, take another photo and so on until we had lots of slightly different pictures. When the pictures play really fast one after the other, it looks like one moving picture! We were amazed! Pixar Studios here we come!
