Last Friday 10 children from year 5 and 6 visited the Financial Compensation Scheme. This gave us an opportunity to learn about people’s jobs and what they have done to get there.
We weren’t the only school on the visit; some children from John Scurr were there as well so it meant we got the opportunity to work with them.
First of all we interviewed 5 people who worked there; we asked them questions about what they wanted to be when they were younger and what their first jobs were. 1 person’s first job was selling ice cream! Then we had a tour of the company where we got to see where everybody worked. Finally we completed a challenge- which group could build the largest tower (that can stand up by itself) using the least amount of newspaper. Yasar and Erbolot’s group won!
