Last Friday, year 3 embarked on a journey into the past, millions of years into the past! We travelled to The Natural History Museum to learn more about fossils. We met a famous fossil finder from the past, named Mary Anning. She told us all about her discoveries along the Jurassic Coast and how they changed our way of thinking about the past and how old the world actual is.
After our meeting with Mary Anning, we explored the museum. We saw more evidence of the Earth’s history including dinosaur skeletons and a mechanical T-Rex. We also looked into human history on Earth. We have been learning about the stone age, bronze age and iron age and we saw human skulls from those eras. We even found a few Neanderthals, who were another kind of early human, but no longer exist today. We had lots of fun exploring our history!
