What an exciting day we had at the National History Museum!
Our class travelled back in time- millions of years back to explore the Stone Age, fossils, human evolution, sparkling crystals and enormous prehistoric animals. Every corner of the museum had something fascinating waiting for us, and the children were absolutely buzzing with excitement!

Here are some of our favourite moments:

“The thing I loved the most was seeing the skeleton of a sabre-tooth tiger!” Simon
…He said it looked fierce and powerful, and he couldn’t believe how long its teeth were. Simon thought it was like seeing a real-life creature from a movie!

“I enjoyed seeing the extinct animals from long time ago.” Husnain
…He was amazed that animals could look so different in the past and enjoyed imagining what it would be like to see them alive today.

“My favourite thing that I did in the museum was feeling things that were from the past such fossils and huge rocks!” Nahiya
…She said touching the fossils made her feel like a real scientist discovering ancient secrets.

“My favourite part was when we explored the crystals because they were really pretty and sparkly – my favourite crystal was the light pink and light purple.” Mehjabin
…She couldn’t stop looking at them and said they shimmered like magical treasures from a fairy tale.

“My favourite part was the mammoths bones and the human evolution because it tells you a lot about things and other stuff.” Muhammad
…He enjoyed learning how humans have changed over time and loved seeing how giant mammoths once roamed the Earth.

“My favourite part was when we looked at earth and evolution because it looked very scientific and I learnt lots of facts about what Earth is made up of!” Ana
…She felt like a real geologist as she explored the layers of the Earth and discovered how our planet has changed over billions of years.

“My favourite part was when we were looking at the different birds because most of the birds that I knew such as the dodo.” Rayyan
…He thought it was amazing to see birds that no longer exist and loved spotting the ones he recognised from books.

“My favourite part was the dinosaur because I liked looking at the olden days.” Scarlett
…She was thrilled to stand beneath the towering skeletons and imagine the world when dinosaurs ruled the Earth.

To top it all off, we even discovered the oldest tooth in the entire world, which was found in Africa and is around 10 million years old. How incredible is that?!

We left the museum full of new knowledge, fun memories, and lots of curiosity about the past.

What an unforgettable adventure!

As we wrap up this blog, I’m reminded of a wonderful quote by Maria Montessori:
“The greatest gifts we can give our children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence.”
