What an exciting half term it has been in Year 3! Our learning journey has taken us high up into the mountains and deep inside volcanoes as we explored the amazing world we live in. This is what the children have been saying this term:
Hi everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful term at school, I loved being in school every day this term because we do really fun activities in school. I would like to share all the fun things that we have done this term in year 3.
English
In English we have been acting out the story called the Cloud Tea Monkeys. We also looked at tension and suspense in a story because it makes stories interesting and fun to read. We also have been making lots of different types of tea and tasting it too- it was so exciting! I now know that Ms Ferdush’s favourite is black tea and green tea! We wrote a non narrative report about tea because we are now professional tea experts! If you want to find out anything about tea come and relax and we can tell you all about it.

Maths
This term in maths we learnt a lot about fractions. We were adding and subtracting fractions. I loved learning about fractions because last year I found it hard but this time I found it much easier. I think this is because I have been a resilient learner and I also enjoy maths because we do lots of problem solving and its fun to talk about maths as it helps to learn more in a fun way!

Wider Curriculum
This term we have been learning about mountains and exploring the UK. We began by looking at mountains that are located in the UK. We learned to name famous mountains and explored maps to find out which regions they belong to. We also investigated physical features like rivers, coasts and hills. It was so fun because we explored famous mountains and volcanoes from each continent. Also we compared mountain ranges, including the Himalayas. Our teacher taught us about how different mountain environments can be, learning about their climates, features and the people who live there.

Outdoor Learning
I really enjoyed our Forest School and gardening sessions every week! It was super fun getting to go outside and learn in a different way instead of being in the classroom all the time.
We get to explore nature, work together with our friends and learn how to take care of plants in the garden. I like building things, planting seeds and looking closely at what we can find outside. It makes me feel more confident and helps me get better at working with others.
I also love being outside in the fresh air and discovering new things about nature. Sometimes we try new things that feel a bit challenging but it helps us learn and grow and we love being resilient!
Thank you so much to Ms Boglietti and Joe (our gardener) for taking us every week and teaching us all about nature and the world- we really loved it!
Some of us did a reflection. Please watch below.

Our Cinema Treat
At the end of the day, we had an amazing treat because we had been so well behaved and earned the most tokens in the whole school!
We got to watch a film in the hall and it felt just like a real cinema. We had popcorn, crisps and even a drink! We all sat together, relaxed, watched the movie and enjoyed our snacks.
It was such a fun and special way to end the day, and everyone really enjoyed it!

Message from the Year 3 Team
We are incredibly proud of the determination, kindness and curiosity the children have shown throughout this half term. They have challenged themselves, supported one another and grown so much in confidence- it has been a real joy to watch!
As the days have become brighter, so have their smiles, reminding us that “Every day may not be sunny, but we can always find our own sunshine.”
We hope you all have a wonderful and restful break. Eid Mubarak to all our parents, families and carers who will be celebrating next week- we wish you a joyful and special time together!
