This afternoon 7 Year 3/4 children, part of the football after school club, were able to test their skills against two other schools: Manorfield and Mayflower Primary Schools.

Lansbury Lawrence’s football club have been playing and learning different areas of the sport for over 7 weeks. They certainly showed everyone their development and knowledge within football out on the pitch today. Everyone’s performance and attitude towards each game was outstanding; all the children should be hugely proud of themselves.

Lansbury Lawrence reached the final following an impressive win against Manorfield and unfortunate loss against Mayflower. Mayflower drew against Manorfield and won their match against Lansbury Lawrence. This would mean unfortunately Manorfield were unable to reach the final as they only achieved 1 point.

The final came down to a penalty shootout. It came down to centimetres to decide the winner. Mayflower’s goalkeeper saved the deciding penalty on the line. Congratulations to Mayflower on winning the tournament.

Thank you to all the schools who took part at our first Year 3/4 Football Tournament. Look out for next week’s report on our second Poplar Partnership Football Tournament.
