Year 2 Tagore class had an amazing trip to St Paul’s Cathedral as part of our learning about the Great Fire of London. We had lots of fun and learned many interesting facts about history.

Children were super excited and eager to meet Emma
Children closed their eyes and imagined what life was like during the Great Fire Of London.

We dressed up as Christopher Wren and other significant figures from the time of the Great Fire of London. We acted out important events from the Great Fire and pretended to throw water on the fire. We also talked about the different equipment and materials people used at the time and discussed why the fire spread so quickly.

Ava enjoyed dressing up with her friends

We laid down on the floor and looked up at the huge dome. It was amazing to see the beautiful pictures on the ceiling and listened to the stories Emma shared with us.

Children were amazed by all the pictures and details surrounding the dome!

During our visit, we saw statues that are over 100 years old. They helped us understand how important St Paul’s Cathedral has been for a very long time.

For many children, it was their first time travelling on the Central Line. Some were feeling nervous at first, but everyone did a brilliant job and behaved responsibly throughout the journey.

We had a fantastic day and really enjoyed learning outside the classroom. It was a trip we will always remember!

Thank you
