This term, our Year 1 children have settled into their new learning environment, where we continue to embrace the principles of continuous provision. This approach allows our students to explore a range of learning activities at their own pace, fostering independence, creativity, and curiosity while aligning with the national curriculum.
The classroom is set up with various areas to support different aspects of learning, such as literacy, numeracy, science, and the arts. Each area is equipped with hands-on materials that encourage exploration and problem-solving, while also supporting the key learning objectives for Year 1.
Outdoor Learning
Our outdoor area has been a fantastic extension of the classroom this term. The children enjoyed exploring the natural world through activities like nature hunts, mud kitchen play, and water play. Outdoor play encourages physical development, teamwork, and environmental awareness, all while having fun!
Thank you for reading year 1’s blog.
