This half term, we learnt all about WW2. I loved it. It was so interesting to learn the causes and consequences.
CAUSES:
The peace treaty treated Germany very harshly after WW1 leaving them furious. in 1933 Hitler became Germanys leader. in 1939 he decided to invade Poland which made the U.K and France declare war on Germany. Germany’s economy was low and weak. some countries tried to avoid fighting and let Germany take their land. Hitler was greedy for land and power which led to World War 2.
CONSEQUENCES:
Some of the biggest consequences of WW2 were: The Holocaust killed millions of Jews and other. The UN (United Nations) was created to help stop wars across the world, Germany and Japan surrendered, ending the war. The USA and Soviet Union became worldwide superpowers. Many countries were left in debt and needed rebuilding. New borders were drawn and some countries changed. Tens of millions of people died.
AXIS: Italy, Germany, and Japan
ALLIES: France, U.S.A, U.K and Russia
