by Inara and Sophia
We are in school, and we are writing a blog. I am writing it with Sophia, and it is our first time.
On the first day in class, we learnt about the Zones of Regulation. The zones are about your feelings, and there is the blue zone, red zone and the green zone. We drew ourselves on a piece of paper and shared how we feel. This week we also did maths and handwriting.
The lesson we enjoyed the most this week was English because we started reading our new book called Beyond the Pond. Ernest D is the main character, and we acted the story to help understand what happens. It was fun to do the actions. Ernest D dives into his pond with his dog, then he explores a new world on the other side. When he returns home, he looks around and thinks it’s better than he first thought!

We also did P4C. We had a lesson that ended in a discussion about a big, important question, and we all enjoyed thinking and sharing:
Zayah: First, we looked at a picture of a polar bear.
Nafisah: Next, we looked at what we noticed.
Christopher: I noticed that the polar bear was not living where it usually does. I did not expect that.
Ezan: I noticed the polar bear was sad – or maybe it was lonely or sleeping.
Amayah: Where was it’s family and friends?
Amber: I wondered why the polar bear was there, because it wasn’t a zoo and it didn’t look like the polar bear’s natural habitat.
Sulayman: Our topic this half-term is habitats, and I think that’s why the picture was chosen.
Hana: I noticed different things, and I also had questions.
Ataullah: Can you imagine a polar bear trying to live on concrete!
Hafiza: Michelle came to our classroom to give us a letter. We asked her what she thought too, and she stayed to tell us what she thinks. Also, she listened to what we had to say.

Mr Daley – The Delaunay children have taken their chosen question home with them:
Is it more important to have lots of friends or to be happy?
Join in by having the discussion at home. Be thoughtful, curious and share what you think at p4c@lansburylawrence.org
