As part of our project with the V&A, where year 6 are designing their own ceramic tiles using Peggy Angus as inspiration, we visited the museum in South Kensington today. The museum is a beautiful building full of art, craft and deign from around the world.

We looked at tiles from Asia, large murals, a ceramic staircase and tiles everywhere… even in the toilet where there are tiles which are over a hundred years old!

We collected ideas for patterns and colour that we are going to add to our own tiles next week. Matt even showed us how we are going to glaze our tiles, so that our tiles are as strong as the ones in the V&A collection and last for years and years!
